A Guide to setting up your workspace

Every gamer dreams of his PC setup one day- a professional PC setup with multiple monitors, maybe a keyboard with additional RGB lights, and perhaps a GPU with a transparent casing also with RGB lights so that he’s constantly being reminded of the beauty he owns and uses every time he boots up his PC.

This passion is never really gone- among most boys even when they grow up not because they value their PC a little too much but because they would have their own space. The space where they are in a trance- undisturbed by the world and by their daily problems. They could sit- and do their own thing, and no one would budge an eye.

A space- which is only their own, and no one can take this away from them. This later- turns into a workspace for them- for the streamers who game, they transform this space by podcasting and integrating their professional microphone and webcam with the PC, and for developers- they use the multi-monitor setup to code their project and simultaneously have an idea of what they’re building- anyway this article is all about setting up a similar space for yourself.

Where to start building your computer?

It’s essential to start with the basics- and they are your needs. Different usages call for different setups; as we’ve just finished discussing, YouTubers and developers may use the same setup for other needs. It’s essential to know how heavy you want your setup to be in power and expense, and that can only be done once you decide what you will use it for. There are a lot of ready-made PC setups up for grabs, but we suggest building your own from scratch as this is Cost efficient and will bring you closer to your setup once you know where is what and what goes where.

Listing out the Items

  1. The CPU

First comes the central processing unit (CPU), which will be the brain of your pc- a strong need like gaming or developing code also calls for a strong CPU. Common brands for CPUs include Intel and AMD.

  1. The Motherboard

Then comes the motherboard, which allows communication between all the other components on your PC. Make sure you choose a motherboard compatible with your CPU & other components in your setup.

  1. The GPU

Third, we have the GPU- the graphics processing unit. This component of the setup is mainly used to render graphics. Be careful when selecting this one- you might need a powerful GPU for high-end games, coding, and video editing.

  1. The Random Acess Memory unit

At number four, we have memory, more commonly called RAM. At least 16GB is standard for most tasks today, so stay on this. Less RAM and more tasks could lead your PC to hang, which we don’t like.

  1. Others

Other essential components- which are also important include storage, more commonly called the ROM, a power supply unit, a PC case, and a cooling system. All of these components are highly important when building your setup. We suggest you choose the ROM according to your needs again- mainly selected as 1 TB by people; select a transparent or an opaque PC case according to how you would want to showcase it and choose a sound cooling system that calms your CPU down. We forgot the very own component- which we will keep the PC at your desk. The desk is an essential selection while setting up your workspace- arguably the most important. The desk is supposed to be comfortable for you even when you decide to work on it- for longer durations. We suggest a heated desk if you also want a jacuzzi feeling at your desk.
