CBD oil and its benefits

CBD oil (Cannabidiol) can be derived from the marijuana plant, or the hemp plant. It does not have THC in it. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the substance that causes the euphoric effects on the brain. CBD does not have that in it, therefore has no distorting effects.

CBD oil has many benefits. The more common reasons for using CBD is to manage chronic pain, help deal with many common mental health disorders like anxiety, depression or other forms of stress. More advanced studies have found it to be very efficient in controlling epileptic seizures also.

As scientific studies advance into the numerous health benefits of using CBD regularly, many still question whether or not it lives up to the hype and how it can help with general health, not just it’s support with pain management and mental health benefits. CBD is a natural stimulator of the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system, simply put, produces endocannabinoids which help us feel good and maintain chemical balances in the brain to prevent feelings of anxiety and depression, and it also helps maintain a regulated sleeping pattern. We have endocannabinoid receptors all throughout the body, not just the brain, and it is these endocannabinoids that help us remain calm and functioning both mentally and physically efficiently as possible.

How CBD works so effectively, is when it enters the body, it suppresses a fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). FAAH is required to normally metabolise THC or cannabis down to something else, but CBD suppresses it, it allows the body to produce something called anandamide. Anandamide is an endocannabinoid, one with extensive research behind its functions. Anandamide is the endocannabinoid which combats inflammation in the body. And it’s not just muscular inflammation, but inflammation of the organs that could lead to cancerous developments and even tumors.

As we’ve already discussed, many users of CBD will take it for anxiety relief, which has already been proven to be very effective, but not many know how or why it is so efficient at helping common anxiety. CBD activates adenosine. Adenosine is blocked by high caffeine products, things like energy drinks and coffee. Researchers say it practically has the opposite effect as coffee with regards to anxiety. It is not just anxiety that CBD helps treat, as many mental health experts have distinguished a direct correlation between anxiety, stress, and depression. CBD can be just as effective, if not more effective, depending on the individual, at fighting depression than many prescribed medications.

With its natural properties and calming effects, helping to reduce stress and anxiety, it is commonly known that you can take CBD oil to help you sleep. Again, CBD’s ability to help aid a peaceful night’s sleep, is linked directly to the production of anandamide, regulating stress hormones within the brain.

It didn’t seem too far in the past when the majority of people had ever heard of CBD oil, nevermind it’s countless benefits for every day health. Nowadays it is easy to purchase, from high street stores and a global online market. CBD, along with many other cannabis and marijuana plant products, is now used in millions of health care products. The health and beauty industry turns over millions of dollars annually with a variety of body and hair products as well as skin care. CBD is now a front running, key ingredient for many products especially for treating acne, as it helps regulate the body’s natural oil level production.

CBD oil can be a simple, yet effective addition to other everyday products. Much like brushing teeth daily, CBD can be a daily consumption at no added inconvenience. It is definitely worth considering to anybody wanting to live a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
